The little details company was born out of a wedding day panic. You know the type of morning when everything is going wrong, the bride can’t know and her friends jump in to save the day? Yes that. Kate was one of those friends and as a big fan of weddings, she decided no friend or family member (and certainly no bride or groom) should have to undergo such stress when it should be a celebration.

The Little Details Company - About Us

So, in 2004, Kate rocked up at a wedding show with eight chair covers and sashes, one centrepiece and a passion for style. Little did she know she would be booked that day for a wedding that was the weekend after and the business would go from strength to strength. When Kate made the move from Hampshire to Northamptonshire in 2012 she met Katie in her day job working in the event industry. They worked so well together and found they had the same big ideas about wedding venue perfection they took their own special vows to work together in the future. In 2014 they teamed up to be able to operate more widely in both counties – Northamptonshire and Hampshire – as well as all the ones in between.

The little details company is a real family business, with Kate and Katie’s husbands often pitching in when their engineering and mechanical design strengths are needed and their children being taught a positive work ethic… although they aren’t quite trusted to tie bows yet!

Kate | The Little Details Company

“My passion for running the business is to take the stress away from the bridal party and reassure couples that I can create the look they want. I married my husband back in 2015 – and obviously set up my own wedding apart from the flowers – and I remember walking into the ceremony room the night before and being totally blown away by how everything looked. This is the feeling I want every bride and groom to feel, and we’re lucky enough to make that happen for all the ones we work with. I’m often the one that comes up with the crazy creative ideas – ‘look how amazing this is going to be if we can make it happen’ I’ll say – then I hand over to Katie! Our different strengths work in tandem and we feel very lucky to help turn people’s wedding dreams into a reality.”

“After I gained a first class honours degree in events management I worked in all event fields – from agency, to venue, to supplier – over 13 years before I met Kate. We just clicked even our MD at the time said that we’d be crazy if we didn’t work together again. It was when I got married in 2013, and struggled to find a Northamptonshire supplier that would set up my venue exactly how I imagined, that I realised there was clearly a demand for the service Kate was providing. There was no one supplier that looked after ‘all the little details’. After I was up until midnight on the night before my wedding – making sure everything was perfect for the next day – it wasn’t long before I was on board with the little details company, offering wedding dressing services to the people of Northamptonshire. Kate comes up with some amazing ideas and then says over to you as I’m very practically minded and I have a secret weapon, my husband, who takes on any technical challenge.”

“I look after Hampshire and I love meeting with couples and starting the planning process with them – the excitement and buzz they bring to our studio is lovely. If I get to see them whilst I’m setting up as their vision starts to become a reality it feels like we’ve been on the planning journey together. I love the relationships I’ve built up with venues and this really helps when couples talk to us as I know how the venues work although sometimes I get asked questions as though I work for the hotel – I can do most things but not change everything for them!”

Wedding Stylist – The Little Details Company.

Kate’s favourite wedding

“I honestly think I have too many to mention, but at the moment our weeping blossom trees are my favourite. They are so pretty and versatile so can be used to welcome your guests, at the end of the aisle, over the cake table or behind the top table. They look perfect at the end of the aisle in the Hampshire Suite at Old Thorns.”

Dodmoor House Foliage Moongate

Katie’s favourite wedding

“I adore our Moongate and this gorgeous couple trusted us and booked the Moongate without even seeing it! love how different we can make a venue look once we’ve been in and worked our magic, and we’ve returned to venues and made them look completely different again. I like simple weddings with a clear underlying and consistent tone throughout.”

Becky Favourite Wedding

Kate's favorite piece of decor -“I love long tables with lots of candles and subtle styling, it creates a beautiful atmosphere.”

Olive Trees Barton Hall

Katie’s favourite piece of décor

“It’s all about the trees for me – we’ve recently invested in lots of new and exciting stock that I simply cannot wait to style at our venues.”

Becky favourite decor

“My favourite item of décor has got to be our new floral centrepieces. I love how full they are and the height they give so you can still easily chat across the table, I love how the look of them changes on your choice of stand.”
